I appreciate those of you who have been open to the “change of leadership” for the Youth Group. I am learning the greatest challenge of the Youth Group is scheduling events so that most of the Youth can attend. Our Youth have so many talents and gifts that their schedules are packed. The Youth Group would like to express their gratitude for your faithfulness in bringing your weekly recycles to place in our bins every Sunday. To clarify, only items that have the words: “HI 5” can be recycled for our ongoing Youth project. A few examples are plastic water bottles, aluminum juice or soda cans and glass bottles that all have “HI 5” on the label. Please remember to discard the tops and rinse the recycle items. I look forward to seeing you all on our KCC Work Day to show our thanks to God for our place of worship! Please keep the Youth and me in your prayers!

Playgroup is in full swing
again. We have seven returning families from last year along with two new
families attending. With nine two year olds, seven babies plus mommies and
daddies it makes for a very active playroom every Thursday and Friday.

Kailua Christian Church will be hosting Family Promise beginning July 6th for one week. We would encourage all who have supported the project to sign up again and those whohave not, to sign up to experience this life changing mission.

Na Anela is a support group that provides a positive journey for those experiencing (or have experienced) life-threatening illnesses through communication (sharing/feedback), information and prayer, within a confidential, non-threatening Christian environment.
Facilitated by cancer survivors, Mary Ann Ishikane and Myra Yamada, Na Anela officially began on January 26, 2002, with the approval of the church's council. Since its inception, Satsuki Nemoto, has continued to provide spiritual guidance for the small group.
Monthly meetings are held in Room 3 on the fourth Saturday of each month, except for the month of December.
0930-1030: announcements, introduction of first-time visitors, sharing, and prayer requests
1030-1130: guest speaker (as available)
1130-1230: light, healthy refreshments and socializing
Guest speakers throughout the years have kept our group well informed on health and medical issues, healing techniques and strategies, medication and pain management, massage, nutrition, diet, exercise, healthy cooking, music for strengthening the immune system, etc.
All are welcome to attend our monthly meetings. Please call Kailua Christian Church at 261-0125 if you are interested in attending.

Overcomers is a group that meets for one hour beginning at 9:00 a.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every month (except during the summer) and is a support group for those whose loved one that has died, whether a spouse or child, etc. Persons are at different stages of grieving and healing, but each has experienced the pain of loss and the journey of healing. Typically we read and discuss a short passage of scripture, perhaps a psalm, and then share how we are doing with one another. Conversation and discussion is never forced. There is much wisdom, experience and compassion from the people in this group. It is facilitated by the pastor and all are welcome.
Wednesday Morning Bible Class meets every week on Wednesday morning from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. winter and summer vacations are observed (we don’t meet at those times). This is a wonderful opportunity for fellowship, which is just as important as the actual Bible study itself. Break and refreshments at 10:00 a.m. are important parts of our time together, as well as opening and closing prayer. There is a custom of ending each semester with an off-site group luncheon, enjoyed by all. The pastor leads the weekly Bible study, which traditionally is a particular book of the Bible. The study is “sharing based” where the movement of the Spirit in those participating is encouraged as we listen to and learn from one another. All are welcome.
