YOUTH GROUP MINISTRY

We welcome 6^th-12^th graders to participate in our KCC Youth Group. For the past 3 years, Youth Worker, Lia Lau has made it her mission to edify, educate and encourage each youth to seek God’s purpose for their life. Together, they foster a loving outreach to the community among the youth of KCC, their friends, congregation and the world. We have studied, “Sustainability , being Green” and visited the Kailua Dump to see and smell the “waste that we produce” and interviewed over 15 businesses in Kailua Town to understand what “Green practices” that they are doing to help our environment. We have participated in community service projects such as: making lunches for Habitat for Humanity; serving dinners at River of Life; and raising funds for the Heiffer project; Waves4Water; Japan Relief; and the Hawaiian Humane Society. The Youth have monthly fun fellowships with other youth groups; go to 2 annual camps; beach picnics; and movies. The Youth have opportunities to perform in plays; speak in sharing presentations and dance or play instruments for special occasions.
